Fabio Gradel is an experienced lawyer, consultant, and manager with over 25 years of professional experience in law firms, consulting firms and corporate enterprises, specializing in Compliance and Tax Law.<\/p>\n

He served as a partner in the Brazilian branch of one of the world's largest business consulting firms, where he led the provision of legal services to corporate legal departments of all sizes, ranging from Fortune 500 businesses to family-run enterprises. At the same global consulting firm, he led the '50years+ Cornestone' of its International Diversity and Inclusion Programme for Latin America, promoting affirmative action in the recruitment and retention of senior professionals and implementing age discrimination policies in collaboration with other companies operating in the Latin American<\/p>\n

Fabio held a managerial role in the legal department at a worldwide energy firm. His responsibilities included restructuring the tax litigation unit, implementing anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABC) programmes, reviewing performance indicators and internal controls, and applying certified best practices which led to significant cost reductions across the sector. He has overseen projects involving the inspection, recovery and replacement of judicial guarantees, as well as the creation and implementation of a new model for contracting service providers. He has taken a proactive role in internal committees and acted as a representative for industry and management associations to improve legislation and develop best corporate practices.<\/p>\n

At law firms, Fabio has worked as an advisory and litigation lawyer for companies in the energy, consumer goods, telecommunications and services sectors, amongst others. He has coordinated teams for tax litigation, mass litigation and corporate consultancy. He has worked on developing and implementation of restructuring strategies, turnaround and business optimization strategies, as well as creating structures for family business succession, both domestically and internationally. Fabio has offered legal guidance on tax-related matters, handling tax contingencies and specific regulations, M&A operations and corporate reorganization.<\/p>\n

Recently, his focus has been on helping legal departments of large companies with management consulting, outsourcing and technology-intensive operational projects through collaborations with lawtechs and legaltechs. More recently, he has concentrated on initiatives concerning regulatory compliance, managing data protection (GDPR abroad and LGPD in Brazil) and implementing methodologies centred on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG).<\/p>\n

Fabio is a member of both the Brazilian and Portuguese Bar Associations.<\/p>\n

Fabio is married and the father of two pre-teen children, as well as being the guardian of his cat Princess Leia. He is an amateur photographer, self- confessed geek and record collector of the most diverse musical styles, with a collection of around 8,000 albums. He enjoys a good craft beer with his friends.<\/p>\n
