Rodrigo EscobarEscobar

Rodrigo Escobar is a lawyer who studied law at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo. In 2009, during his training, he gained his initial experience in tax law. Since then, he has focused primarily on cases in this area, with a specialisation in judicial and administrative litigation. He qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and relocated to Rio de Janeiro, a city he greatly admired. Here, he primarily represented clients within the oil and gas sector.

Working within the specialized sphere of tax law, Rodrigo Escobar was accountable for the formalisation of tax queries that prompted the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service to release COSIT Consultancy Opinions 310, 319, and 320 in 2019. These opinions dictated how PIS and COFINS would be taxed on the import of specific inputs obtained by oil refineries, resulting in significant direct savings for his client at the time and becoming legally binding for all firms in the sector in the country.

Very enthusiastic about building relationships, Rodrigo Escobar has willingly participated in several voluntary projects. He is also a co-founder of the "Acesso Solidário" volunteer group, providing emergency aid to the homeless and underprivileged communities of Sao Paulo.

Rodrigo's interests include sports, travelling, and his beloved dog, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Alfred.
